Our Mission

Indivisible Clackamas seeks to resist Trump’s agenda by engaging local constituents with their elected government officials. We utilize existing democratic institutions, established community organizations, and peaceful demonstration to promote progressive, inclusive values and effective civic engagement.

Our Values

  • We believe policies of the Trump administration are rooted in authoritarianism, corruption, xenophobia, sexism, and racism, which are harmful to American citizens, our democratic institutions, and our planet.
  • We believe in preserving our democracy through actively engaging in our democratic systems.
  • We believe in policies that promote inclusion, tolerance, and fairness; everyone deserves to have their voice heard on the national level and everyone in
Clackamas County is welcome to participate in our movement.

Who We Are

Indivisible Clackamas is a group of concerned citizens who banded together around a common goal. We are school teachers, church leaders, retirees, small business owners, employees, managers, and students from all across Clackamas County. We seek to engage constituents of the district with our representatives to affect action that adheres to our values. We represent no other organization or individual other than the constituents who comprise our membership.

What We Do

Make Daily Action Calls

Our representatives are listening! Phone calls are quick, easy, and perhaps the most efficient and effective way to communicate with those elected to represent us.

Meet with Kurt Schrader and Staffers

We believe that by engaging in direct dialogue with our members of congress (MoCs), we can make both reasoned and personal appeals to ensure our local values are represented in Washington.

Attend Town Halls

Town halls are an infrequent but invaluable opportunity to both ask hard questions of our MoCs and share our community’s concerns.

Host Monthly Community Meetings

Our community meetings are open to all. These meetings provide an opportunity to share current policy decisions, keep members up-to-date on our elected officials’ actions,  promote civic engagement by practicing skills, and allow a “purple” county to come together.

Maintain a Digital Community

Indivisible Clackamas is dedicated to providing news, calls to action, and community support to our entire county. By utilizing multiple digital platforms, citizens of all ages, abilities, and means can actively participate in our group.

We Also

Host Postcard Campaigns

By taking the time to handwrite postcards, we allow our MoCs and other elected officials to literally hold our desires, our concerns, and our stories in their hands.

Support Established Activist Organizations

Instead of reinventing the wheel, we seek to network as much as possible with other groups working on our shared goals.

Resist Locally — Meet, Call and Write State and Local Officials

We are committed to resisting harmful policies that directly affect our own communities. Engaging in regular dialogue with local sheriffs; attending city council, county commissioner, and school board meetings; and supporting local activism allow us to enact change from the ground up. We also lobby our state legislators and our Attorney General on actions to resist the Trump agenda; as a blue state, we have special leverage for state and local resistance.
